Interfirm Dragon Boat Race Challenge
The Glencove office took part in Cork’s Dragon Boat Race on Saturday 23rd of July on the River Lee, Cork . This spectacular event took place off Lapps quay in the city centre.
Team Glencove consisted of 16 crew members all of which work in our Waterford and Cork offices. There was fun, team bonding and adventure fused with a touch of obligatory competitiveness!
Participating in the Dragon Boat race gave us with the opportunity to get active, support a great cause and experience Cork city from the water! Collectively our team all share a passion for sport so we were looking forward to trying our hand at the Dragon Boat Race!
The Fundraiser itself was in aid of Meitheal Mara, Cork’s boatyard and nationally recognised training centre. The organisation is committed to promoting maritime culture through conventional boat building techniques. Meitheal Mara is also proud to provide development & training for people at risk of societal isolation, those who are recovering from addiction and individuals with varying disabilities.
We gave it our best shot on the day but sadly first place wasn’t to be for Glencove on this occasion. The atmosphere, comradery and overall team spirit was incomparable to any other event we have taken part in. We are already looking forward to next year’s Dragon Boat Race Challenge!
